Printable Monthly Calendar Your Kids Will Love to Color!

I’ve been doing calendar skills with my girls since they were little. It’s not something we spend a lot of time on, but even just briefly going over the date and showing them what it looks like on the calendar has helped them understand how it all works as they’ve grown.

For the past two years, we’ve used a printable monthly calendar that they could mark the date on and think through basic calendar skills such as day of the week, month of they year, year, etc.

It’s worked great, but this year, I decided to make one that they could personalize a little bit by coloring at the beginning of each month…just to make it more fun! And of course, it had to be themed for the holidays and seasons because that’s just how I roll. (haha)

I love how they turned out! It’s nothing profound…but it is a simple way to add a little fun and personalization to your kids morning menus or calendar work!

Ways to use these Monthly Calendar Pages:

  • Color and date then put in morning menu to mark off each day with dry erase marker
  • Color and date and place in three-ring binder with or without page protectors
  • Color and place on clipboard for each child…they can date and color a square for each day
  • Color and date yourself and place in a picture frame to use as the calendar in your homeschool…use a dry erase marker to mark off the days together as a family

We are using them this year in our morning menus. At the beginning of each month, I give them time to color their calendars and they enjoy getting to do that! It’s even something they can do while I’m reading through something in our morning basket. Then at the end, we put the new calendar in the menus to use throughout the rest of the month.

What’s a Morning Menu?

If you’re new to morning baskets and morning menus, you may not be sure what a morning menu is! If this is you, then head over to this post where I explain in more detail what a morning menu is and how we use it in our homeschool!

I’m offering the October calendar page for free to print and try and see how you like it! :
